Wedding is the new chapter in the life of a girl and a boy. At the event, they tie the knot with each other through the mediums of rituals, customs and ceremonies. The auspicious occasion brings happiness and celebration in the life but at the same it brings a huge challenge for the bride. She is the centre stage as well as the conclusion of the wedding ceremony. After the wedding event, she has to leave her parental home and go forever to her in-laws. Once the bride arrives at the groom's home, it is the duty of the family of the groom to welcome her and feel her familiar with them. In order to do that, the groom's family organizes various wedding games for the newly wed couple.

Kinds of Wedding Games

The majority of post wedding games belongs to hiding the shoes, loosen the knotted string and fishing the ring. They are explained below:

Shoes Hiding
In the Hindu wedding tradition, the sister of the bride hides the shoes of the groom when he is sitting in the mandap. To return the shoes, she demands and bargains handsome from the groom. While at the groom home after wedding, the groom's sister hide the shoes of her brother and in return bargains some amount of money at the entrance. After giving her the money, the groom along with his bride can enter in the home.

Fishing the Ring
During this wedding game, the bride and the groom have to sit facing each other along with a bowl of milk in front of them. One of the family members drops a ring in the bowl and then the couple has to find the ring by throwing their hands into it. Whoever finds the ring first will be declared as the winner. It is accepted that the winner between the couple will rule to other.

Unknot Knotted String
This wedding game is performed with the purpose of forecasting the future relationship of the couple. A knotted string is tied on the hands of the bride and the groom. The couple tries to unknot the tight string with using one hand only. At the same time, the family members back their sides with chanting and screaming.
